Hi Eagles! With the upcoming hybrid learning environment, we are proud to present OSIS’s Vision and Mission regarding the upcoming hybrid events.
Now, you might be wondering, what are hybrid events? A hybrid event is an event where participants have the opportunity to either attend the event in-person or online. It is an ongoing process where we plan to re-integrate students back into the school halls. In light of the eighteen months of online learning due to the pandemic, Sekolah Ciputra will be starting hybrid learning soon. It is not to say that online learning will not still be done, but we hope that students will be actively taking part in this event.
Our vision for this event is to be able to have healthy students (mostly fully vaccinated) attend Sekolah Ciputra in person. We also hope to be able to welcome students (who are expected to understand and abide by the healthy protocols) back to school and adapt to things as they were before. With hybrid learning, we hope students will be able to excel more academically and become more socially active in this new learning environment. We also hope that the risk of contracting COVID-19 will be reduced, as students will be divided into cohorts which will reduce the capacity of students in school. It is understandable that some may lose their motivation working from home, so we are hoping for a shift to a more productive environment by being back in school. We hope that easier accessibility to resources and meeting teachers face-to-face may bring a lot of positive change. We would like to see Sekolah Ciputra alive, this time, face to face with teachers, students and school staff. Regarding the Covid-19, Indonesia’s cases per day are decreasing through time, especially August and September. Organizations and schools such as Ciputra provided 1st and 2nd vaccination for families to take. Regardless of that, we strongly encourage you to still follow the Covid-19 protocol.
Moving on to our mission, with the new system of hybrid learning or school; the OSIS team would also need to adjust to create events suitable for the school system that is very new for all of us. With hybrid learning around us, potential events that we can host are limited and will not be the same as usual OSIS events. Luckily, we’re all ready with exciting and surprising events that will encourage all of you guys to join. So do keep a positive mindset and expect many fun things to look forward to!
Examples of the health protocols mentioned above are the provision of hand sanitizers near all the hallways for public use, the encouragement of being socially distant from one another, wearing double masks and a habit of throwing away the used masks & wearing new ones by break time and finally being aware of not touching surfaces before sanitizing them. Additionally, students will not be allowed to open the classroom door, so the teachers are the one who will open it in order to minimize the risk of physical contact.
Other than the necessary precautions, it is without doubt that we miss the jokes we have with our friends during class time, participating in questioning & answering sessions with our favorite teachers or even walking through the once familiar hallways. Although the fun may last, we still need to maintain our responsibility as students such as going to classes on time and giving our utmost effort in doing given assignments or projects. For some, they may find it tiring to do but we should really enjoy the best of it and take on a positive light. Honestly, when will we be able to go back to a very lively and productive environment?
To conclude, OSIS sincerely hopes that the new hybrid learning system will benefit both students and staff in various ways such as easier communication, socialization and understanding towards the lessons. We are hoping that students will be able to adapt to this new development and do better both academically and non academically. We are looking forward to the success of this hybrid school simulation and we all hope that we can see you all back in school when we start the official hybrid learning!
